Ministry of Industry invites Toyota to invest in Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, October 18, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopian delegation, consisting of Industry Minister and senior officials of subordinate institutions, has arrived in Japan to exchange experiences and invite investors to Ethiopia.
The delegation, led by Industry Minister, Melaku Alebel, held discussions with development partners to promote the “Ethiopia Manufactures/የኢትዮጵያ ታምርት” national movement and visited automotive industries in Japan.
In the discussion, the Minister invited the Toyota Motor Corporation’s top management to invest in Ethiopia.
As a result, Toyota accepted the investment invitation by the Ethiopian Industry Minister, stating that it is willing to invest in Ethiopia.
Furthermore, the Ministry and Toyota have reached an agreement to work together on trainings to increase the productivity of the automobile industry in Ethiopia.
According to the Ministry’s post on Facebook, during the working visit, the delegation learned experiences of continuous productivity wisdom, quality, and competitiveness from the Japanese institutions; such as the Japan Productivity Center (JPC), the Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers (JUSE), and Toyota Motor Corporation.
