MoWE welcomes Russian electric equipment manufacturer to Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, September 22, 2022 (FBC) – The Ministry of Water and Energy-Ethiopia welcomed Russian electric equipment manufacturer, Risseti, on transformer and cable production.

Minister of Water and Energy, Habtamu Itefa, spoke to the delegation that came to work together with the Ministry in the production of transformer cables and related electrical equipment.

The Minister stated during his discussion that Russia and Ethiopia have a long history of people-to-people relations and that Russia is a country that has been at the forefront of providing comprehensive support to his country in all the challenges it faces at different times and is still doing so.

He pointed out that the company’s interest in working with other private organizations engaged in the sector in Ethiopia not only contributes to the socio-economic development of the country, but also plays a significant role in the country’s efforts to provide electricity to the community.

Habtamu assured that the Ministry will provide all-round support for the company’s production of electrical appliances.

The Counselor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ethiopia, Alexander Komsarov, said that the cooperation and support of the Ministry is important for the company’s efforts to work with local private investors in the sector.
