Alibaba, Ethiopian foreign trade stakeholders discuss ways to enhance e-commerce export
Addis Ababa, September 25, 2022 (FBC) – Alibaba, one of the largest e-Commerce companies in the world, held a discussion with Ethiopian foreign trade stakeholders on the ways of offering export products to the international market, which was organized by the Embassy in Beijing.
Including the Ethiopian Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia and the Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority, participated in the discussion forum.
Deputy Head of the Mission, Ambassador Dewano Keder, expressed the need to enhance the relationship with Alibaba in order to further increasing the accessibility of Ethiopian foreign trade products in e-commerce transactions.
Adugna Debela (PhD), the director general of Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority, on his part pointed out that the demand for Ethiopia’s coffee in China is increasing and he noted, office of the Authority will work closely with Alibaba to realize the benefit of Ethiopia’s coffee producers and exporters from the huge market opportunity in China.
At the forum, a presentation was made by Alibaba, about the issues that Ethiopian foreign trade companies using Tmall and Tabao, which are Alibaba’s online sales platforms.
