EEP to undertake 8 transmission lines, distribution station projects this year
Addis Ababa, September 13, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) confirmed that the construction of eight transmission lines and distribution station projects set to be undertaken this year.
The 230/33 KV substation in Beqoji and the 230/33/15 KV substation in Debre Tabor, as well as the substation project for the planned Adama City’s Geda Special Economic Zone are on course to be built, said Kibrom Kahsay, the CEO of EEP’s Transmission Line and Distribution Station Construction Department.
Currently, various works have been undertaken by making an agreement with the construction equipment supplier company to carry out construction work for Beqoji and Debre Tabor stations.
In addition, the Southern Electricity Grid Expansion Project and the Butajra-Worabe Transmission Line and Distribution Station projects will be built by foreign contractors, he confirmed.
