Ethiopia, Djibouti say scaling up joint operation against transnational terrorism, crimes
Addis Ababa, September 8, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopia and Djibouti annouced that they are workingng hard together to get their border areas from any transitional terrorism and related crimes.
Ethiopian Federal Police Commissioner General Demelash Hailemichael met with Djibouti National Police Force Director General, Colonel Abdurahman Ali to discuss bilateral issues of mutual concern including cooperation on cross border security.
It is to be recalled that Federal Police of Djibouti and Ethiopia have so far signed cooperation agreement to jointly fight cross border terrorism and coordinated crimes.
Following the cooperation agreement, the two police have established Joint Security Taskforce which is working to combat transitional terror activiteis and related crimes, and registering respective achievements.
And the two Police top officers have agreed to build on the achievements gained and get rid of any security threat from border areas.
It is also stated that the two police are working on extradition of criminals, and pulling off gains in fighting illicit financial flow in border areas.
