Ethio-Djibouti Railway announces swift service to Dire-Dawa Free Trade Zone
Addis Ababa, August 18, 2022 (FBC) – The Ethio-Djibouti Railroad has announced that it is ready to provide efficient and swift transport services to Dire-Dawa Free Trade Zone, which was recently inaugurated by FDRE Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
Dire-Dawa’s proximity to the Port of Djibouti will contribute greatly to the economy, and the fact that the Ethio-Djibouti railway line passes through the city makes it convenient for logistics services.
Head of Ethio-Djibouti Railway Transport Stock Association, Dr. Abdi Zenebe, explained that arrangements have been made to provide efficient transportation services for import and export goods to the manufacturers entering the free trade zone.
He also stressed that Dire-Dawa inland port is able to unload and load goods due to its connection with the rail road, which enables it to provide efficient service.
The Official also insisted that Dire-Dawa is convenient to realize the free trade zone with its rail network, road infrastructure, industrial park and inland port; where investors can take advantage of the free trade zone by getting the service of transporting goods with speed and quality.
Intensive work is being done by the railway freight service to achieve the target for the economy of Ethiopia, and for this purpose, renovation is underway on the Dire-Dawa railway to operate the station at its full capacity, added the Official.
