Western Command of ENDF vows to ensure safety and security of GERD

Addis Ababa, August 17, 2022 (FBC) – Members of the Ethiopian Defense Force Mechanized Regiment have reaffirmed commitment to ensure the safety and security of Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).

“Like the rest of Ethiopian institutions, the army is incomparably delighted on the successful inauguration of the commencement of power generation from GERD’s second turbine and completion of third phase water filling in the reservoir of the dam.”

The staff members of the Mechanized Regiment of the Western Command expressed their joy after visiting the progress of the construction of the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam Electric Power Project.

During their visit of the dam, the staff members of the regiments affirmed that the army is mentally and physically prepared in the mission to ensure the security of the dam, and confirmed that they will continue financial and material support until the construction of the dam is completed.
