Second National Jobs Summit underway in Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa, August 15, 2022 (FBC) – The Second National Jobs Summit has kicked off in Addis Ababa under the theme “Sustainable Jobs for Bright Future”
In her opening remarks, the Labor and Skills Minister, Muferiaht Kamil said the Summit would help garner policy inputs for future endeavors mainly in the job creation, technical and vocational education and training and labor safety sectors.
Saying that job creation needs rounded view, Muferihat noted that the Ministry since its establishment has consolidated various institutions that were working separately towards a common goal, and tackled a number of issues that were hindering endeavors in the sector.
Labor and Skills Ministry has made remarkable achievements in restoring TVET institutions and enterprises damaged by the conflict besides building competent organizations, she said, highlighting the role of the summit in bringing crucial inputs for effective human capital development and job creation strides.
The Minister further called for active participation of all stakeholders to address the challenges in the job creation sector and deliver better results.
