Mayor inaugurates China-backed Sarbet-Gofa Mazoria-Pushkin-Gotera interchange road project

Addis Ababa, August 15, 2022 (FBC) – Mayor of Addis Ababa City, Adanech Abiebie along with senior government officials have inaugurated the China-backed Sarbet-Gofa Mazoria-Pushkin-Gotera interchange road project in the capital.

Logistics and Transport Minister Dagmawit Moges, Finance Minister Ahmed Shide and Chargé d’affaires at the Chinese Embassy in Addis Ababa, Shin Kingman attended the inauguration ceremony.

The interchange road project has a length of 3.8 kilo meters and width of 30-45 meters with a capacity of accommodating a large number of vehicles including bus rapid transit services at a time. The Road has 320m long underground cave system.

The project has been built by a budget of 1.5 billion birr secured from the Government of China.
