Ethiopian Diaspora in UAE donate 15,000 books to Grand Abrehot Library, two institutions
Addis Ababa, August 10, 2022 (FBC) – Members of the Ethiopian Diaspora in United Arab Emirates have donated 15,000 books to the Grand Abrehot Library, one of the mega projects in Addis Ababa initiated by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, and to other higher education institutions.
Representatives of the Diaspora have handed over the books to the Library on Wednesday at the Grand Library in the presence of high government officials including Foreign Affairs State Minister, Ambassador Birtukan Ayano, Director General of the Diaspora Service, Mohammed Idris and Education Minister Professor Birhanu Nega.
Appreciating the book donation made by Ethiopians living in the UAE, the Education Minister called on all the Diaspora to support education institutions affected by the conflict in the northern part of the country.
Apart from the Library, Wollo, Woldia and Madda Walabu Universities are other recipients of the book donation, it is indicated.
