Ethiopia hosts International Holy Quran recitation completion in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, June 13, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopia hosted International Holy Quran recitation completion which is the first in its kind for the country at Addis Ababa Stadium in the capital with attendance of participants from various parts of the world.

Thousands of Ethiopian Muslims from several parts of the country gathered in Addis Ababa Stadium to attend the contest of the recitation of the Holy Quran that was supervised by the International Referee Committee for the Holy Quran Competition.

Contestants from 12 countries took part in the competition, and a Jordanian contender, Mohammed Nur won the award showing outstanding performance.

Scholars said such an event will play a significant role in promoting Ethiopia’s especial place in the Islamic Religion as the first sanctuary outside Mecca for companions of Prophet Mohammed.
