Ethiopian Center for Indigenous Knowledge established
Addis Ababa, May 9, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopian Center for Indigenous Knowledge has been established in the presence of high level government officials, scholars and guests.
The Center is aimed to access all segments of the community at all levels with indigenous wisdoms through curricular approach, it is stated on the launching ceremony.
Addressing participants, the Women and Social Affairs Minister, Ergoge Tesfaye (PhD), stated that the center would help pass on traditional and homegrown wisdoms and experiences to the coming generations.
Ergoge added that current advancements in various world countries such as China, Thailand and Japan stem from their investments in indigenous knowledge.
Preservation of indigenous knowledge, conservation of biodiversity, expanding ethical education, investments on traditional medicines and and ancient drawing techniques and other indigenous widoms have a crucial role in expediting nation’s journey towards prosperity, Ergoge added.
