Diaspora contributes over 1.3 billion ETB in support of rehabilitation, humanitarian works in Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, April 21, 2022 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Diaspora Agency stated that Ethiopians in the Diaspora have contributed 1.37 million birr in support of rehabilitation and humanitarian works and the construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).
While assessing the participation of the Diaspora community in nation’s development efforts, the Agency stated that 876 online and face to face discussions have been held to enhance engagement of Ethiopians in various parts of the world in overall activities of the country.
In the citizen centered diplomacy sector, members of the Diaspora Community has been defending interest of their homeland through peaceful demonstrations against unwelcome sanctions. They have been holding rallies against H.R. 6600 and S. 3199 draft bills by the U.S Senate and Congress, the Agency stated.
