Ethiopians in UAE preparing to welcome PM
Addis Ababa, February 11, 2020 (FBC) -Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed will travel to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), this week to meet with Ethiopians living in the Middle East countries.
The Prime Minister will hold consultations with Ethiopians drawn from Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain from February 13-15, 2020.
On Friday, February 15, he will address them at the Al Maktoum Stadium.
According to the Ethiopian Consulate in Dubai and Northern Emirates, works were underway to warmly welcome the Prime Minister.
A committee led by Suleiman Dedefo, Ambassador of Ethiopia to UAE and Selamawit Dawit, Director General of Ethiopian Diaspora Agency, evaluated the preparations being made to receive the PM.
According to the committee, free transportation services are arranged for those who will come to the stadium from UAE’s seven emirates. Over 15,000 Ethiopians are expected to attend the event.
More than 100,000 Ethiopians had returned home following the citizen-focused diplomacy the Prime Minister initiates.
