Russia vows to support Amhara Region in overcoming consequences of the war

Addis Ababa, March 21, 2022 (FBC) – Ambassador of Russia to Ethiopia, Evgeny Terekhin affirmed commitment of his country to support the Amhara Region in overcoming consequences of the war waged by the terrorist TPLF against people of the region.

The pledge came at a time when the Ambassador talked to the Chief Administrator of the Amhara Region Yilkal Kefale (PhD) on rehabilitation and rebuilding activities being carried out in the region.

Ambassador Terekhin stated that Russia is ready to work together with higher education institutions in the region in human resource development areas. He added that an agreement has been reached with Bahir Dar University to collaborate in urban development field.

Yilkal, for his part, called for support of the Russian Government in the efforts underway to rebuild infrastructures destroyed by the terrorist TPLF. He also extended gratitude to the Government of Russia for standing by Ethiopia at international platforms during various trying times.
