Ethiopia rejects WHO’s allegation of blockage of transportation of medical supplies to Tigray as baseless
Addis Ababa, Ma4ch 17, 2022 ( FBC) – Government Communications Service Minister, Legesse Tulu (PhD) has rejected the WHO’s allegation of blockage of transportation of medical supplies to Tigray as baseless.
Director General of WHO, Dr. Tedros Adhanom is violating organizations principles and values in issuing groundless statements and orchestrating false accusations against the government which is exerting efforts to address humanitarian needs in Tigray, the Minister Noted.
Despite the fact that the terrorist TPLF hasblocked the humanitarian route into Tigray with its renewed attack in Afar Region, the WHO Chief is insisting on hie false accusations to shift the blame to the government.
On the other hand, contrary to the accusations of WHOs chief, a letter from the country office of WHO indicates that the government of Ethiopia has already verified and cleared the transportation of medical supplies and medicines to Tigray.
A letter dated 15 March 2022, the Country Office of the WHO has requested the Federal Disaster Risk Mitigation Commission to approve a 95-metric tons of medicine and medical supplies to Tigray.
It is to be recalled that WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom recently accused the government of Ethiopia of blocking transportation of medical supplies to Tigray.
