Amhara Chief Admin, Ambassadors of China, US on various issues
Addis Ababa, March 16, 2022 (FBC) – Chief Administrator of the Amhara Regional State, Yilkal Kefale (PhD) discussed with Ambassadors of China and the U.S. to Ethiopia on various issues including ongoing rehabiliation activities and bilateral issues of mutual concern.
Chief Administrator Yilkal and Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia, Zhao Zhiyuan exchanged views on ways of restoring factories ravaged by TPLF in the region and other bilateral and regional issues of mutual concern.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Executive Officer, Yilkal Kefale, said that the terrorist TPLF group vandalized and looted a number of infrastructures and factories during its invasion in Amhara Region.
The Chief Administrator stated that efforts are being made to restore destroyed infrastructure and institutions, and called on the Chinese government to play its part in the rebuilding efforts in the light of its longstanding friendship and development partnership with Ethiopia.
Yilkal also said that the regional government will work hard to rebuild and Chinese projects damaged by the terrorist TPLF forces.
The Chinese Ambassador Zhao Zhiyuan, for his part, said China is working closely with the Amhara regional government, and expressed commitment of his country to further enhance multifaceted cooperation with Ethiopia.
Meanwhile, the Chief Administrator also discussed with Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the U.S. in Addis Ababa, Ambassador Tracey Ann Jacobson on current issues.
