3rd African Youth SDGs Summit kicks off in Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa: February 30, 2014 (FBC) The 4th African Youth Sustainable Development Goals Summit kicked off in Addis Ababa.
Plan and Development State Minister, Tirumar Abate stated that the Summit focused on the potential roles of the youth in Agenda 2030 and 2063 of the African Union.
Citing Ethiopia as a model, Tirumar added that the 10-year development plan of the country incorporates Sustainable Development Goals and Agenda 2063.
According to the Ministry of Planning and the Ministry, the African Youth Sustainable Development Goals (MDGs) Conference is aimed at educating young people on the continent about sustainable development goals and enhancing their participation in such endeavors.
The African Youth SDGs Summit is a Pan-African forum that connects the youth in Africa with a view to empower them to contribute to its implementation, monitoring and accountability of the goals.
