Ethiopians in U.S. celebrate the 126th Anniversary of the Victory of Adwa

Addis Ababa, March 7, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopians in the U.S. have celebrated the 126th Anniversary of the Victory of Adwa in the presence of Ambassador Fitsum Arega and Ambassador Taye Atskessillasie, including representatives of associations of the Ethiopian community conducting a virtual discussion on the importance of the Day to Ethiopians and Africans at large.

The Ambassadors emphasized the importance of Unity in times of adversity, as one of the lessons of the Victory of Adwa.

Ambassador Fitsum called on Ethiopians in the Diaspora to protest against the HR6600 draft bill.

Ambassador Taye, on his part, explained Ethiopia’s position regarding the Russia-Ukraine situation.

Dr. Gebeyhu Teferi, one of the participants, has tabled a paper focusing on the role of the Adwa Victory in strengthening Unity among Ethiopians and Pan Africanism.
