Terrorist TPLF inflicts over 1 billion birr damage to water infrastructures in Amhara Region

Addis Ababa, February 21, 2022 (FBC) – The terrorist TPLF inflicted more than 1 billion birr damage to water infrastructures in Amhara Region during its invasion in the region.

Head of Water and Energy Bureau of the Amhara Regional Government, Mamaru Ayalew (PhD) said soldiers of the terrorist group damaged 102 water facilities in several towns they invaded.

Most of water facilities have been reinstated with joint restoration works undertaken by the government and partner organizations, he said.

Mamaru indicated collective efforts are well underway to restore the rest of water infrastructures that are still out of services.

The Bureau is holding water sector officials from North Wollo, North Shewa and South Wollo Zones on ways of restoring damaged facilities and enhancing water supplies in the region.
