Addis Ababa University to teach Swahili language
Addis Ababa, February 10, 2022 (FBC) – Addis Ababa University and University of Dar es Salaam have signed MoU to facilitate teaching of Swahili language in the Ethiopian earliest higher education institution.
The President of Addis Ababa University, Professor Tasew Woldehana and Vice Chancellor of the Dar es Salaam University, Professor William Anangise signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.
Professor Tasew, on the signing ceremony, stated that preparations have been finalized to start the Swahili language teaching in the University.
African Union has recently adopted Swahili as its working language. Swahili is spoken in Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya and other communities in Eastern Africa.
