Addis Ababa, February 9, 2022 (FBC) – A high level delegation led by President Sahle-Work Zewde has arrived in Semera, Afar Region. The delegation consists of the Deputy Secretary-General of the UN, Amina Mohammed J. Mohammed and the AU Special Representative for the Horn of Africa, Olusegun Obasanjo.

The Chief Administrator of the Afar, Regional State Awol Arba and other regional high officials of the region have accorded warm welcome to the delegation upon its arrival at Sultan Alimirah Hanfare Airport.

The delegation is expected to observe the human and property damage in the region caused by the TPLF and assess the related humanitarian situation in the area.
