AU Ministerial Session deliberates on ways to expediate operationalization of Africa CDC: Spokesperson
Addis Ababa, February 3, 2022 (FBC) – The Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Ambassador Dina Mufti gave a briefing today to the media on the agenda items for deliberation during the 40th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the AU.
According to Ambassador Dina, the ministerial session has been deliberating on ways to expedite operationalization of the Africa CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention.)
The Covid-19 pandemic and its socio-economic impact on African economies has also been a subject for deliberation, he said.
He said the session also includes discussions over the annual report of the Union and its organs and the report of the 43rd Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives’ Committee held on 20-21 Jan 2022.
Aside from presiding over the report on the Status of Implementation of Previous Decisions of the Executive Council, he said the session will forward agenda items to the AU Summit for further discussion.
The 35th Ordinary Session of the AU Assembly of Heads of State and Government will be held in Addis Ababa from 05 to 06 February 2022, Ambassador Dina added.
