Western media continue mishandling situation in Ethiopia: GCS

Addis Ababa, December 4, 2021 (FBC) – In a press briefing, State Minister of Government Communications Service, Selamawit Kassa said the western media have continued mishandling the situation in Ethiopia through disinformation and biased news stories.

Selamawit noted that the western media are deliberately disinforming the world community about the current situation in Ethiopia.

“Although the government has allowed both aerial and land transportation for humanitarian delivery to Tigray, the western media have said nothing about it, rather they are reporting the other way round.” she said.

The western media also have turned blind eye to the atrocities being committed by the terrorist TPLF and related blockage of humanitarian delivery due to such aggressions in the two regions, Selamawit stated.

Selamawit further rejected reports fabricated by some western media including CNN under the title “Humera Massacre” which is intended to disinform the international community as genocide was committed against ethnic Tigrayans in Humera town.

On the other hand, Selamawit said that the “Campaign for Multinational Unity” national military operation is well under way accompanied by continuous victories against the terrorist TPLF Forces.

Selamawit further praised Ethiopians, people of Ethiopian descent and friends of Ethiopians for shedding light on the realities in Ethiopia through demonstrations held under the #NoMore global movement and supporting humanitarian efforts via the EyezonEthiopia platform.
