Press Secretariat refutes BBC’s disinformation regarding temporary closure of schools in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, December 4, 2021 (FBC) – Press Secretariat of the Office of the Prime Minister, Billene Seyoum has refuted BBC’s recent false news under a disinformation headline entitled “Ethiopia closes  schools to boost civil war effort”.

Explaining the objective of the temporary closure of schools in the country, Billene underlined that “Ethiopia as agriculture backed economy with ambitions to be food secure and self-sufficient is mobilizing all hands on deck”

The Press Secretariat underscored that the School are closed so students can help with crop harvest.

“It’s exactly one month since CNN lied to the global community claiming Addis Ababa was under siege. As the ENDF keep clearing rebels out of key areas, CNN owes an apology to Ethiopia and the world for serving as instrument of instability through its disinformation” she added.
