Formation of South West Ethiopia Regional State under way in Bonga town

Addis Ababa, November 23, 2021 (FBC) – Formation of the new South West Ethiopia Regional State is taking place in Bonga town in attendance of representatives of the five zones and one special woreda incorporated in the regional government.

The representatives will be electing Chief Administrator and Spokesperson of the the newly formed regional state.

The constitution of the new government is also expected to be approved on the founding meeting.

It is to be recalled that a referendum was conducted on September 30 to form the South West Ethiopia People Regional state by combining Kaffa, Sheka, Bench Sheko, Dawuro, West Omo zones and Konta special woreda.
