Seifu Tura wins at Chicago Marathon
Addis Ababa, October 11, 2021 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s Seifu Tura won the men’s title on Sunday at the 43rd Chicago Marathon.
Seifu finished the race in 2hrs 6mins 12secs with American Galen Rupp second, 23 seconds adrift, and Kenya’s Eric Kiptanui third in 2:06:51.
Seifu, who was sixth at Chicago in 2019, won the 2018 Shanghai and Milan titles and was fourth at Milan in May in 2:04:29.
“I’m very happy to have won here in Chicago,” Seifu said. “I prepared for more than three months for this race. If it hadn’t been for the heat I was hoping to run a personal best time.”
