Addis Ababa, October 4, 2021 (FBC) -Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, addressing the huge gatherings at the founding ceremony of the new government, reiterated readiness to take Ethiopia to a higher place in all social, economic, political and diplomatic spheres.
The success of the election was not realized by the contribution of the government alone, the Premier noted, appreciating the role of all Ethiopians at large for the successful conclusion of the election and realization of the new government.
It needs concerted efforts of the government and general public to address the bundle of policial, and economic problems that emanated from previous regimes, he underlined.
He reiterated an inclusive political system that will withstand all internal and external challenges and push Ethiopia forward.
The government will hold inclusive political dialogue involving all segments of the community to resolve the ongoing challenges, he said.
Ethiopia has overcome several ups and downs. The belligerence made against Ethiopia by the TPLF Junta consted Ethiopia a lot.
“I am always proud of Ethiopians’ bravery and resistance against external forces that tried to violate sovereignty of their motherland,” Abiy noted, appreciating all partners which stoody by the nation during times of need.
He said that the terrorist TPLF committed a horrific attack against the Northern Command of Ethiopia, involved child soldiers in war, attacked and displaced innocent civilians and killed animals.
Supported by its outside riders, the terrorist organization has put Ethiopia at stake, he said, renewing commitment to preserve sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation. “Our war is only with anti-Ethiopian forces”
Ethiopia will build a strong peace and security force. The pressure of the outside forces forced Ethiopia to revise its history back in the diplomatic arena. There are some forces which have repeated the history of treachery against Ethiopia, in the politial area, he said.
As it was a beacon of independence for many African countries and nations under colonialism cited as a symbol of freedom by legendary black activists like Marcus Garvey and Ethiopia will maintain its leading position for wellbeing of the continent, Abiy paraphrased.
Ethiopia is working hard for the realization of prosperous Africa under the motto of “African Solutions to African Problems”, he said, calling all Africans to contribute to continental collaboration.
Ethiopia is committed to ensure fair and reasonable use of the Nile River through cementing cooperation between riparian countries, Abiy said.
River Abay is not only a matter of economic benefit to Ethiopia, it is also a matter of survival that unites Ethiopians together.
The Premier reiterated commitment that the construction of GERD will be fully completed and used for the intended use. Ethiopia will play its leading role in social and political integration across the region.
Ethiopia is implementing market-based economic policy, he said, reiterating the government’s commitment for job creation and reduction of burden of inflation among the community.
The government will seriously fight corruption and other malpractices, the Prime Minister underscored.
Ethiopia has gone through various challenges during the last year, Abiy noted, adding that it will overcome all internal and external challenges and continue to be beacon of Africa’s better future.
He further called on all Ethiopians to actively participate in the new government and play their part in achieving growth and development goals of the nation.
