Health Minister Dr. Lia attends launch of Africa CDC Regional Center in Nairobi

Addis Ababa, October 2, 2021 (FBC) – The Health Minister Dr. Lia Tadesse has attended the launch of the Eastern Africa Regional Collaboration Center for the Africa CDC in Nairobi hosted by the Government of the Republic of Kenya.

Health Ministers of Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania were also in attendance of the lauching ceremony.

The Eastern Africa RCC will be vital in coordinating and promoting partnerships and strategic initiatives in the 14 member states in the region, to strengthen disease surveillance, laboratory systems, public health communication and more towards resilient health systems, Dr. Lia said.

“I would like to say congratulations and thank you to all who made this center a reality, particularly the Government of Republic of Kenya, The Ministry of Health of Kenya, African Union and Africa CDC team” she added.
