Oromia re-appoints Shimelis Abdisa as regional president
Addis Ababa, September 25, 2021 (FBC) – The Regional Council of Oromia (Cheffe Oromia) has re-appointed Shimelis Abdisa as regional president.
Cheffe Oromia held 5th and the final session of the 5th regional council and finalized agendas from the previous regional council.
Elected members of 6th Cheffe were sworn in by incumbent President of the Oromia Supreme Court Ghazali Abbaasimal. The Cheffe has also elected Sa’ada Abdulrahman as the new speaker replacing Lomi Bado and Elias Umata as the deputy speaker replacing Mahbouba Adam.
Both were sworn in by the President of Oromia Supreme Court Ghazali Abbaasimal.
The regional council also approved appointments of deputy regional presidents and senior officials who were nominated by President Shimelis Abdisa.
