Addis Ababa City Administration extends 200mln ETB support to IDPs in Afar Region

Addis Ababa, September 15, 2021 (FBC) – A delegation led by Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa, Adanech Abiebie travelled to Afar regional state to deliver humanitarian support to IDPs in the region who fled their homes due to atrocities committed by the TPLF terrorist group.

Deputy Mayor Adanech Abiebie handed over the financial and in-kind support amounting to 200 Million Birr raised by the city administration from the business communities and residents of the city to the President of Afar Regional State Haji Awol Arba. Out of the total support, 50 Million is contributed in kind.

She appreciated gallantry shown by the people of Afar in thwarting the aggression of the terrorist TPLF in the region.

On the occasion, Haji Awol Arba reaffirmed commitment of his government and the people of Afar in general to continue support for the national struggle to bring an end to the terrorist element.
