Religious fathers extend best wishes and messages on Ethiopian New Year
Addis Ababa, September 10, 2021 (FBC) – Religious fathers from various institutions have extended best wishes to all Ethiopians over the 2014 New Year celebration.
Patriarch of Ethiopian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Abune Matias, wishing Ethiopians a blessed and peaceful new year, said New Year brings joy and renewal and annunciates brighter future.
A desire for peace and development comes true only through hard work, the Patriarch underlined calling all citizens to keep awake for diligence during the new year.
President of the Ethiopian Islamic Supreme Council, Grand Mufti Haji Omer Idris wished all Ethiopians a joyful and peaceful new year calling for avoidance of some unethical tendencies seen during the last year.
The Grand Mufti urged Ethiopians to adhere to kindness and togetherness while celebrating the New Year. He called on citizens to show kindness to the needy who are in desperate conditions.
His Grace Abune Berhaneyesus Sufafel, Cardinal of the Ethiopian Catholic Church, wishing a blessed and prosperous New Year, called on all Ethiopians to encourage love and reconciliation.
The cardinal called on Ethiopians to shun hate speech and show kindness to the displaced sheltered in various camps and visit those in need.
Secretary General of Council of Ethiopian Evangelical Churches, Priest Dereje Jenberu underscored that peace and growth cannot be attained without avoid bad habits that are against unity.
He wishes Ethiopia to successfully complete ongoing projects, overcome her enemies and curb hostilities calling all citizens to stand in unison for the better Ethiopia.
President of Fellowship of Ethiopian Evangelical Churches, Pastor Tsadiku Abdo said the concluded year was marked by fruitful strides including successful completion of second filling of GERD and peaceful conclusion of the sixth general elections despite the challenges such as the COVID 19 pandemic.
He wished Ethiopians to translate their new hope and vision into better results in their lives during the New Year.
