Ethiopia, South Sudan vow stronger ties
Addis Ababa, August 26, 2021 (FBC) – Leaders of Ethiopia and South Sudan Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed stated and President Salva Kiir vowed stronger socio-economic between the two countries.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed expressed gratitude to the President Salva Kiir for the commitment to strengthen ties between the two nations.
In their discussions, the two leaders have also explored the necessity to build on economic ties through infrastructure development. “All-weather friends like South Sudan are essential in our time of need,” Prime Minister Abiy noted.
President Salva Kiir congratulated Prime Minister Abiy for the successful and peaceful conclusion of the 6th general elections held on June and completion of the second filling of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) as well reiterating strong commitment to the ties with Ethiopia.
