Seven people confirmed dead after Tuesday’s flooding in Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa, August 18, 2021 (FBC) – Addis Ababa Fire and Emergency Prevention and Rescue Commission announced that seven people have died in the record-breaking flash flood that the capital on Tuesday.
According to Commissioner of Addis Ababa Fire and Emergency Prevention and Rescue Commission, Solomon Fiseha residents vacated their homes as those who injured are receiving treatments in hospitals.
He also said the commission is undertaking preventive and control activities to protect residents from potential risk of flash flooding.
The torrential downpour in Tuesday afternoon has inflicted a flash flooding that caused loss of lives and properties in several neighborhoods of the capital Addis Ababa.
