South Sudan reaffirms commitment to wellbeing of Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, August 7, 2021 (FBC) – Foreign Minister of South Sudan, Beatrice Wani reaffirmed commitment of her country to wellbeing of Ethiopia.
During her conversation with Ethiopian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Nebil Mahdi, Beatrice Wani said South Sudan is committed to enhance its historical relations with Ethiopia. “South Sudan wouldn’t allow anything bad to happen to Ethiopia,” she underlined.
The minister also emphasized the positive impact of the GERD in generating energy and noted that amicable solutions are needed to solve the stalemate in the negotiations.
Ambassador Nebil congratulated the minister for the establishment of the Reconstituted National Assembly and the Council of States and underscored this would hugely contribute to the speedy and full implementation of the peace agreement.
The ambassador also briefed the minister about the developments in Ethiopia.
Notwithstanding the Government’s good intention for the wellbeing of the people of Tigray, TPLF has failed to reciprocate the ceasefire and continued to launch fresh attacks on multiple fronts, the ambassador said.
He said the Ethiopian National Defense Forces have all the capacity and moral authority to neutralize the hostile element.
Ambassador Nebil has also informed her about the second filling of the Dam and reiterated that the overall purpose of the dam is generating electricity.
