Dr. Lia Tadesse wins next generation Award from Harvard T.H. Chan School
Addis Ababa, May 28, 2021 (FBC) – Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health awarded the Minister of Health, Dr. Lia Tadesse as world changer health sector leader.
Dr. Lia has received the Next Generation Award from the school for her contribution to the enhancement of the health sector in Ethiopia and other international and local organizations she was engaged in before her career as Minister of Health.
Next generation award goes to those who register best achievements in area of global health innovation field.
Her commitment, agility and compassion in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic in Ethiopia has been also recognized by the award committee of the school.
Dean of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Mitchell Williams appreciated Dr. Lia’s achievements in advancing the health system particularly in enhancing COVID 19 control mechanisms in Ethiopia.
Dr. Lia Tadesse has become successful in addressing disparities in the social determinants of the health, she said.
Dr. Lia Tadesse has been the Minister of Ethiopia since March 2020. And she was Project director at USAID maternal and children survival program and vice provost of St. Paul Millennium Hospital in Addis Ababa.
