Ethiopian Envoy Hassen Taju confers with ambassador of South Sudan in Kuwait
Addis Ababa, April 27, 2021 (FBC) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to Kuwait, Hassen Taju conferred with Ambassador of South Sudan to the same country Dr. Manelisi Genge on bilateral and regional issues.
The two agreed to further strengthen the longstanding ties between their respective countries in multifaceted areas of cooperation.
Envoy briefed the South African Ambassador Dr. Manelisi on latest development in Ethiopia including humanitarian and rebuilding drive in Tigray region and trilateral negotiations on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).
He expressed gratitude to the government of South Africa in facilitating the trilateral talks between Ethiopia, Egypt and Sudan in the light of African solution to African problems.
Ambassador Hassen further underscored that Ethiopia appreciates and is committed to the tripartite negotiations under auspices of AU and facilitation of South Africa.
South African Ambassador Dr. Manelisi, on his part, said his country values its relationship with Ethiopia, adding that the two countries have played important role in several continental matters.
He also appreciated Ethiopia’s commitment to ensure peace and stability in the region and beyond pledging his country’s support to the efforts underway to resolve GERD issue through African approach.
