Task force entitled “Defend Ethiopia” established in Europe

Addis Ababa, April 22, 2021 (FBC) – Ethiopian scholars and activists living in Europe have set up a task force tasked to combat misinformation and fake news from some organizations, think tanks and MPs targeting Ethiopia.

It is stated that the task force will have also a role to back the ongoing reform in the country and tone down pressures emanating from foreign interference.

Ethiopian Ambassador to the UK, Teferi Melese, on the occasion, said attempts by several countries and organizations to derail Ethiopia’s peaceful step to preserve its national interests have brought Ethiopians to set up the task force.

He expressed optimism that the task force will play a crucial role in defending Ethiopia’s interests and alleviating impacts of disinformation campaigns targeting the nation.

The task force comprises senior scholars who have profound experiences in various academic areas and fields of engagements.
