Ethiopia important friend, partner of Israel: President Rivlin’s Advisor
Addis Ababa, March 23, 2021 (FBC) –Ethiopian ambassador to Israel, Reta Alemu held a meeting with Shuli Davidovich, Senior Foreign Affairs Advisor to Israeli President.
Ambassador Reta explained about the on-going reconstruction and rehabilitation works of the Ethiopian government in the Tigray regional state.
Moreover, he expressed the endeavours on the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the people in need. The Ethiopian government has continued to ensure unhindered humanitarian access to all international agencies.
He said media outlets have been given access. He also stressed the commitment of the Ethiopian government to investigate allegations of human rights violations in collaboration with international organizations as well as to ensure accountability.
Ambassador Reta also briefed the Senior Advisor about the commitment of Ethiopia for peaceful settlement of the boundary dispute between Ethiopia and Sudan.
He emphasized that the boundary dispute between Ethiopia and Sudan should get a lasting solution solely through diplomatic negotiation and agreement.
Ambassador Reta also updated the senior advisor about the negotiation on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) under the auspices of the African Union (AU).
He underscored Ethiopia’s commitment to continue its positive and constructive engagement to resolve the remaining outstanding issues under the AU-led negotiation process which remains the best venue for dialogue.
Shuli said Ethiopia is an important friend and partner of Israel, according to Ethiopian Embassy in Israel.
The Senior Advisor expressed her understanding and support for the positions and actions of the Ethiopian government.
