Ethiopian athletes dominate 2020 C&D Xiamen Marathon

Addis Ababa, January 6, 2020 (FBC) – Ethiopian runners dominated the 2020 C&D Xiamen Marathon held in China yesterday.

The 25-year-old Birhan Nebebew clocked 2:08:16 to win the men’s title. Girmay Berhanu finished third and Reuben Kiprop Kerio of Kenya third.

In the women’s category, Ethiopian athletes completely controlled the event, finishing the race 1-8.

The 22-year-old Medina Deme, clocked 2:26:12 to defend women’s title, creating her personal best, Mesera Hussen finished second and Afera Godfay third.
