Ministry, institute sign MoU to apply satellite imageries in agriculture

Addis Ababa, March 3, 2021 (FBC) –The Ministry of Agriculture and the Ethiopian Space Science and Technology Institute have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the application of satellite imageries in agriculture.

The agreement was signed by Minister of Agriculture, Oumer Hussien and Director General of the Institute, Abdisa Yilma, at a ceremony held in Adama city.

According to the MoU, the ministry and the institute would cooperate in weather forecast and building capacity of experts by applying satellite imageries to modernize agriculture.

The MoU will enter into force within the coming 15 days.
