NEBE begins distribution of election materials to polling stations

Addis Ababa, February 10, 2021 (FBC) –The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) said it will begin distribution of election materials to polling stations as of today.

The electoral board is currently presenting a report about its preparation for the upcoming 6th general elections to senior leaders of political parties.

At the event, the board briefed participants on preparations made so far, including civil and voters’ education, training of poll workers and registration of political parties, among others.

The board has established 673 constituency offices across the country and recruited 49,407 poll workers for the election scheduled to take place early June this year.

It has also issued certificate of recognition for 64 of the 115 accredited Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) that wanted to provide training on civic and voters’ education.

Electoral symbols of political parties were announced and published by the board last week.

Participants of the meeting are currently discussing on questions raised regarding preparations of the board.
