PM Abiy Ahmed inaugurates PhiBela Edible Oil Factory
Addis Ababa, February 7, 2021 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed together with Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen and other high ranking officials has inaugurated PhiBela Edible Oil Factory, the giant palm oil processing plant in Africa, in Bure town, Amhara Regional State.
PhiBela Oil factory that is believed to meet 60pct of the local edible oil demand. The complex incorporates five factories that process sesame, animal feed and soap and detergent, among other products.
The factory that has been set up by the Ethiopian investor Belayneh Kinde with an outlay of 4.5 Billion Birr is expected to create 3,000 jobs for citizens.
PhiBela Industrial Complex has a capacity of producing 1,500 tons of Palm Oil a day.
The factory will be starting distributing its product to the local market starting from tomorrow, it is indicated.
