Ethiopia, Sudan discuss ways to strengthen transport cooperation

Addis Ababa, December 31, 2019 (FBC) – An Ethiopian delegation led by Minister of Transport Dagmawit Moges met with Sudan’s Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Hashem Tahir Sheikh Taha.

During the talks held in Khartoum yesterday, the two sides discussed means to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

The talks touched on the possibility of using Port Sudan to export and import Ethiopian products through the Port Sudan corridor which links the two nations.

Dagmawit expressed Ethiopia’s desire to import tons of fertilizer through Port Sudan due to the importance of the port location.

The meeting also touched on the multimedia transport agreement between the two countries.

Dagmawit praised the distinguished relationship between the two countries, also stressing the need to overcome all obstacles facing while using Port Sudan.
