Upper Mile Irrigation Project inaugurated
Addis Ababa, January 14, 2021 (FBC) – The Upper Mile Irrigation Dam Project built in south Wello zone of the Amhara regional state was inaugurated today.
Chief Administrator of Amhara regional state, Agegnehu Teshager and Minister of Culture, Dr Hirut Kassaw, attended the inauguration of the project.
The dam has the capacity to develop 350 hectares of land and 750 farmers will benefit from it, according to Mamaru Ayalew, head of the regional state’s water, irrigation and energy development bureau
The regional state is currently undertaking the construction of irrigation projects that could help to develop 2, 955 hectares of land.
