Ethio-China relations reach new high: Official

Addis Ababa, January 12, 2021 (FBC) -Minister of Trade and Industry Melaku Alebel, has held discussion with Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia, Zaho Zhiyuan.

During the discussion held today, Melaku said the long-standing friendship and relationship between Ethiopia and China have reached a new high.

He said the Chinese government has played a pivotal role in Ethiopia’s current economic growth and hoped that it will continue to strengthen in the future.

According to Melaku, Ethiopia will be a prosperous and promising country in the next 10 years.

The Chinese Ambassador said Ethiopia’s law enforcement operation in Tigray regional state achieved its main goal and the Chinese government will deliver its full support for the establishment of everlasting peace in the country.

The relationship between the two sister countries has continued amidst COVID-19 pandemic, which could be a model for other countries, the ambassador said.

Finally, the ambassador conveyed his congratulatory message to Melaku for his contribution to modernizing the African trade system, according to the Ministry of Trade.
