Ethiopia, Sweden vow to strengthen ties

Addis Ababa, January 11, 2021 (FBC) – The Peace and Foreign Relations Standing Committee of the House of People’s Representatives today held discussion with Ambassador of Sweden to Ethiopia, Hans Henric Lundquist.

Chairperson of the Committee, Dr Negeri Lencho, said works will be carried out to strengthen the people -to -people ties between the two countries.

He said Ethiopia will strengthen its cooperation with Sweden in the areas of investment, trade, democracy.

Dr Negeri thanked Sweden for supporting Ethiopia’s education sector, particularly the construction of schools. He also briefed the ambassador about the latest developments in Tigray regional state.

He also invited Swedish investors to invest in Ethiopia.

Ambassador Hans Henric Lundquis, said his country will work with Ethiopia in investment, trade and democracy sectors.

The ambassador further said he will encourage Swedish investors to invest in Ethiopia.
