Mekelle residents joining hands to strengthen peace efforts: Mayor

Addis Ababa, December 29, 2020 (FBC) – Mekelle residents are striving for peace and stability and they are working jointly with the interim administration and the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF), Mayor Ataklti Haileselassie said.

He noted that coordinated efforts are underway to discourage anti-peace elements from disseminating untrue and baseless information.

Speaking to EPA, Mayor Atakliti Haileselassie said the interim administration has been working diligently on maintaining peace and order as well as restoring infrastructure ravaged by the TPLF junta.

“The city’s administration and the federal government have been promptly repairing the destroyed infrastructure.” Ataklti underscored.

However, he said, the spread of unfounded rumors is creating confusion among residents of the city and the interim city administration is now doing everything to expose those who are always stoking fear using various fear mongering tactics, he added.
