Plan International reiterates commitment to support Ethiopia’s efforts to meet SDGs
Addis Ababa, December 20, 2020 (FBC) – Plan International has launched in initiative entitled “Play Matters” which is aimed at delivering play-based learning to refugees and host community children in Ethiopia. The five years initiative is led by the International Rescue Committee
The initiative to be implemented by a consortium of partners, including Plan International also aims to strengthen children’s resilience and build their social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and creative skills, it is indicated on the launching ceremony.
Peter Sweetnam, Country Director for Plan International Ethiopia, reiterated Plan Ethiopia’s Commitment to supporting Ethiopia’s efforts to meet the sustainable development goals, especially the goals of gender equality.
The project is said to will be implemented in Afrar, Benishangul-Gumuz, Gambella, Somalia, and Tigray regions.
Play Matters launch was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Education, Implementing partners, including Plan International Ethiopia, UNHCR, Agency for Refugees and Returnees Affairs (ARRA), and other invited guests.
