Harari Police arrest 17 suspected of plotting an attack

Addis Ababa, November 18, 2020 (FBC) – Harari Regional State Police has arrested 17 individuals on suspicion of plotting an attack in Hakim Woreda.

According to head of Hakim Wored Police Office, Commander Nasir Kedir, the suspects were preparing to carry out an attack in the district.

Based on the arrest warrant issued by a district’s court, police seized a large number of weapons in house of 15 suspects in raids it carried out in partnership with administration of the Woreda and member of the community.

Military binoculars, radio communication devices, photo camera, ammunition cases, 20 Sim Cards, military first aid kits, military uniforms among others have been seized from the suspects, police said.

Police also captured bank accounts, laptops, anti-guerrilla warfare teaching manuals and other military books from perpetrators.
